Research Directions in AR
Online Panel
Abstract
Augmented Reality is not a young research field, it has a long heritage,
with its foundations touching into Engineering, Computer Science, and
the Humanities at least, contributing to Artificial Intelligence, Human
Computer Interaction, and Software engineering, among others.
Advanced human-computer interaction can power many new application
fields like Digital Healthcare, Industry 4.0, or Entertainment,
so where could a prospective PhD student or an entrepreneur still
break ground?
In this one-hour panel discussion, three principal investigators,
PhD supervisors, and entrepreneurs share their experience, vision,
and the Grand Challenges they face with the audience.
R&D interests include the new user interface, holographic AIs,
volumetric capture, web AR, AR and robotics, and specific application
areas such as TEL, I4.0, BIM, or AEC.
